That Roadhog Frosty skin is incredible, and it's one of the challenge ones too so it's basically guaranteed if you play often enough. Torb getting an axe is pretty cool, and it sounds like Reinhardt makes train noises when he charges in the conductor skin? That's awesome.

There's also a new game mode. Wonder how it plays. Time to get back in...

EDIT: Oh, they also added the flex queue and the "Fastpass" system for doing it. I already flex a lot anyway, so this will be great for me.

I play PC and honestly it doesn't look really demanding graphically (it's the art-style that's incredible, not necessarily the graphics) so I wouldn't say playing it on that gives a great boost visually. As far as controls I play it using a gamepad anyway, and it seems like top players do also. Maybe if the framerate isn't up to snuff on console it wouldn't be worth it, but aside from possibly that I don't see any reason to be picky about what you play it on.

Been thinking about the new announcement. Like... are there really Ghosts 'n' Goblins fans that are super excited for this?

I know it was really popular back in the day, but that was also when there were like only 10 good game franchises anyway so even second-tier platformers were deemed amazing when you got sick of Mario. Since then I never hear anyone clamor for more of it. There's no surplus of fanart or anything. People don't talk about it and request more installments like other dormant franchises. It's just, "Oh yeah, I used to play that a lot. I enjoyed it back then".

Basically I'm just wondering if the new announcement got people pumping their fists in the air and cheering for this like other game comebacks because I have difficulty imagining it.

Have you tried Spyfall on TTS? Very little in the way of moving parts in that one- everyone gets dealt a card at the start of the round, and that's it.

The biggest complaint was that everything takes a lot longer when people are fumbling with picking up and moving tokens and stuff digitally. Even compared to real life there was more of an awkwardness to it there. It kind of made games that already take a while to complete feel like absolute forever. I'm not saying it's not an option, but variety is good too. Even digital board games you could technically play on TS if they move the pieces themselves.

My friends are getting tired of Among Us each week and we could use something to help branch out and make game nights fresh again. We've also done plenty of Jackbox and Tabletop Simulator, so if you have any other game suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

The number of players is usually around 6-10 people. Any type of game is up for consideration no matter what the format is (we've done stuff like The Wiki Game, or playing board games that can be done across webcams). While a bunch of us have game consoles and can buy stuff, games that are free/cheap and can be played easily on computers or mobile devices would be best.

pound for pound Rapid Fire seems the most ridiculously OP damaging move in the game when combined with Dual-Wield and the top tier weapons

Bartz's super move in Dissidia is literally just him using Rapid-Fire Dual Wielding with Spellblade. They completely recognized how crazy powerful it is.

Playing through the demo it's kind of clear this NOT just the Switch version graphics wise. It's not the original, but you can tell they tried their best to update what they could.

Yeah, the ending changes depending on who survives the final fight. It's nothing major, but it's a cool gimmick. It gets REALLY depressing if only one character makes it out alive.

Edit: Also, I guess I missed the Azulmagia fight because I wanted to talk about it a bit. It's a cool gimmick, since the boss is a Blue Mage and will Learn and use Blue Magic if you use it yourself. You can trick it into killing itself by using the Self-Destruct spell, which is hilarious.

That never worked for me because it's not how you move your head. If you wanna look up, you look up. If you wanna look down, you look down. So I guess since I hold my controller closer to vertically than I do horizontally, up is up and down is down just transferred better for me.

The issue for me is that in 3D space joysticks don't represent "up and down", they represent "forward and back". If you want to look up, you tilt your head back. And if you want to look down, you tilt your head forward. If vertical camera controls simply panned it would make more sense for up to be up, but they (normally) don't; when you move a camera in a 3D video game vertically it rotates to show the view. If your playing first person, the view rotating can be imagined as your character's head tilting. Even in third person the camera rotating can be imagined as an actual video camera; if you were filming someone and wanted to show what was above them you would tilt the camera you were holding backwards.

The undersea temple is actually a bonus dungeon added to the remake. You can't access it until you beat the game.

The Phoenix Tower has a trick to it inspect the walls. It also might be one of the worst designed dungeons in an RPG ever. Have fun.

Well, I'm playing through the demo and it looks pretty nice. Ultra HD and unlimited framerate makes everything feel incredible even if the textures are supposed to be worse (not that it makes much of a difference imo, considering the cartoony graphics). Combined with the orchestral soundtrack it's probably the most stunning way to play a Dragon Quest game.

By the way, does anyone know what the specifics of the "lying NPCs" Draconian condition is? I turned it on for fun.
